Capsule Geology

The Mikey showing area is underlain by Upper Triassic Stuhini Group volcanic, volcaniclastic and sedimentary rocks intruded by a Late Triassic diorite phase of the Stikine (or McQuillan) Plutonic Suite.

Prospecting in 1990 by South Unuk Gold Corp located the 7227 showing on the western boundary of the Mikey 1 claim. The showing consists of a small bull quartz vein hosted within feldspar-porphyritic andesite flows. Mineralization consisting of native copper, malachite and chalcopyrite occurs over a narrow (0.3 metre) width and 1 metre length. A sample of the material assayed 3.22 grams per tonne gold and 0.26 per cent copper (Assessment Report 21332).
